I had an exciting opportunity to work with Tucson Electric Power's (TEP) innovation team UNS to project manage and design the branding for a weeklong brainstorming event they had. From initial design to ordering final prints, I worked with a small team to add flavor to the event. We went with a propaganda style because we wanted the message to seem dominant and as if it was everywhere. The main purpose of the posters was to get people to participate in the app which make suggestion in how to make the company more effective. Employees were encouraged to share ideas and promote ideas that they saw potential.
Along with posters, vinyls, and intraweb page and banners, I visited the business and created large illustrations for the employees to take photos in front of. We were not able to get photos of the final illustrations, but I have included a few sketches.
While at Brink Media, we were in charge of the social media for The United States National Guard. I had to create designs and get guard approval for any media released in order to keep a positive light on the guard. We created assets for their facebook, twitter and other social media accounts.
To top it off, we were hired to create a video for their 376th anniversary to honor them. A team and I put in countless hours storyboarding, researching, seeding through thousands of National Guard images and creating slides with our video editor.
JOJO Restaurant & Bar was looking to update their stale identity. They wanted a look that captured the aura of their dark, neon night, savory jazz feel.
This was a personal project to redesign the Columbus, Ohio Farmer's Fest. The project includes brochure, signage, giveaways and a simple business card.
I was hired to design a simple t-shirt for girls between the ages 5-18 that they would wear for one song during the Yokota Dance Company summer showcase.
Here is a collection of illustrations I have done over my career. Each illustration is hand drawn then scanned into the computer where I have added color in Adobe Illustrator and rendered the final value in Adobe photoshop.
While it is important for a designer to create a multitude of assets for a project, sometimes you find yourself only having to create one offs for clients. Some of the work is professional, while others are personal favors.
Here is a sample of various logos I have created over my career. Each logo design process always starts with research and hand drawn sketches. The computer is a great way to polish your designs, but I like to begin all of my logos with good ole' pen and paper.
